Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey (the original says to use white I used a mix of white and dark)
  • 1 1/4 cups breadcrumbs (about 2 slices bread)
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 32 to 40 grams pitted kalamata olives (8 to 10 medium olives, then chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 4 to 6 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • FOR AIOLI
  • 1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise (I used regular)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons fresh chopped mint leaves
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine the turkey, bread crumbs, feta cheese, olives, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper and all but about a 1/4 teaspoon of the minced garlic in a large bowl.

  • Step 2: Shape into 4 or 6 (1/2 -inch-thick) patties.

  • Step 3: Place on a plate; set aside in the refrigerator for 4 hours or even more.

  • Step 4: To make the aïoli, combine the mayonnaise, mint, lemon zest and juice, and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon garlic in a small bowl; set aside.

  • Step 5: Spray the grill rack with nonstick spray; preheat the grill to medium or prepare a medium fire.

  • Step 6: Lightly spray the patties with nonstick spray and place on the grill rack. Grill, covered, until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the side of a burger registers 165°F, 6 – 8 minutes on each side.

  • Step 7: Serve each burger topped with a slice of tomato and 2 tablespoons aïoli.
