Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/4 cup beef drippings (or your favourite cooking oil)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk (I use 2%)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon water
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400f degrees.

  • Step 2: Add the flour, milk, eggs, salt and water in a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat until well combined and creamy. Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes until well chilled. Can be done well ahead of cooking time. Just before pouring into the hot oil, give it another quick beating with the electric mixer.

  • Step 3: Pour the beef drippings into a 9 x 13 inch pan; place on the middle oven rack; heat until bubbling hot, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and pour

  • Step 4: The chilled pudding into the very hot bubbling oil and place the pan back on to the middle rack of the oven. Bake 25 minutes without opening the oven door.

  • Step 5: The pudding should be well puffed up and golden brown, remove from oven; cut into 6 to 8 pieces and serve very hot.
