Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 bone-in (350 grams) ham steaks
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine all ingredients for marinade in a medium mixing bowl.

  • Step 2: Place ham steaks in a resealable plastic bag, and pour mixture over steaks.

  • Step 3: Seal bag and allow to marinate for 3-4 hours in refrigerator.

  • Step 4: Preheat grill.

  • Step 5: Remove steaks from bag and reserve marinade.

  • Step 6: Place marinade mixture, including jalapenos, in a saucepan.

  • Step 7: Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat and allow mixture to reduce by half.

  • Step 8: Place ham steaks on grill and cook on medium heat for 13-15 minutes.

  • Step 9: Remove from heat, slice, and serve with cooked marinade.
