Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup thinly sliced sweet onion
  • 14 ounces smoked sausage (cut into 1/8 to 1/4th. inch slices)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 can (14.5 ounce) green beans, do not drain
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 6 frozen pierogi, slightly thawed

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large frying pan,heat oil over medium heat until hot but not smoking.

  • Step 2: Add onions, stirring occasionally until slightly softened.

  • Step 3: Place smoked sausage in with onion,and cook until slightly browned.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle garlic powder and pepper over meat/onion mixture, stir well to combine seasonings.

  • Step 5: Add green beans and water,turn heat to low,cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

  • Step 6: Place pierogi on top of green beans and meat and this point you might need a bit more water to steam the pierogi properly.

  • Step 7: Recover and simmer until pierogi are done.
