Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Set oven rack to second-lowest position.
Step 3: Line 12 regular size muffin tins with paper liners.
Step 4: For streusel topping; in a bowl combine the flour with brown sugar and cinnamon; using your fingers blend in the butter, then mix in the chopped almonds; set aside.
Step 5: For muffins; in a large bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and chopped almonds.
Step 6: In a medium bowl whisk melted butter with sugar, egg and vanilla until well combined then mix in the mashed bananas until blended.
Step 7: Using a wooden spoon mix in the wet mixture into the flour mixture until just combined (do not over mix small lump in the batter are okay).
Step 8: Divide batter evenly between each muffin tin.
Step 9: Sprinkle prepared streusel mixture over the top of each muffin.
Step 10: Bake for 20-22 minutes or until muffins test done.
