  • 2 tablespoons butter (or oil)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 pounds asparagus spears, trimmed, chopped (fresh)
  • 2 1/2 cups fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tub (10 ounce) PHILADELPHIA Savory Garlic Cooking Creme
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in large saucepan on medium heat. Add onions and celery; cook 5 minutes stirring occasionally.

  • Step 2: Add garlic; cook 1-2 minutes

  • Step 3: Add asparagus and broth; stir. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 15 minutes or until vegetables are very tender.

  • Step 4: Blend asparagus mixture, in batches, in blender until smooth; return to saucepan. Whisk in cooking creme, season with salt and pepper; cook and stir on medium heat 2 to 3 minutes or until heated through.
