Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients.

  • Step 2: Add the ground beef and mix well. Shape meat into 1 1/2 inch balls.

  • Step 3: Heat oil in a large skilled and browm the meatballs. After the meatballs have browned in all sides, drain the oil and fat.

  • Step 4: In a medium sized bowl, combine the tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over the meatballs in the skillet.

  • Step 5: Reduce heat; cover and simmer for about 1 hour.

  • Step 6: NOTE: We like extra sauce and like it a little on the thick side. I do another 1/2 recipe of the sauce ingredients and I also add about a tablespoon of rice to the sauce. This can also works quite well in an electric skillet.
