Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 can (14 ounce) diced tomatoes (canned, fire roasted tomatoes, Muir Glen)
  • Pinch ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon oil (olive oil)
  • 1/4 medium yellow onion
  • 2 to 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 fresh serrano or jalapeno chiles, stemmed and seeded
  • 1 poblano chile, seeded and stemmed
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place olive oil, onion, garlic, serranos, poblano and salt and pepper in a saucepan and cook until onion has softened, about 10-15 minutes.

  • Step 2: Cool for 5-10 minutes, then place into a food processor with the fire roasted tomatoes and ground cumin.

  • Step 3: Pulse several times into a nice salsa consistency.
