Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh thyme (or 1/4 teaspoon)
  • 4 cups fresh button mushrooms, quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 3/4 cups ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 3/4 cup light sour cream
  • Salt and pepper
  • 6 cups cooked egg noodles (or other noodles)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the onion and thyme until soft minutes.

  • Step 2: Add mushrooms, cook stirring for 8 to 10 minutes or until well browned.

  • Step 3: Add garlic and cook 2 minutes.

  • Step 4: Stir in the red wine and cook for 1 minute, scraping up any cooked on bits.

  • Step 5: Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire, garlic and green onions. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes or until thickened.

  • Step 6: Stir in the sour cream and toss with warm noodles.
