  • 2 bunches fresh collard greens (or turnip greens)
  • 1 turkey wing, smoked (or smoked ham hock or chunk of smoked ham)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 to 4 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar (or Splenda brown sugar blend)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Wash greens and cut out thick stems.

  • Step 2: Stack greens in a pile, then roll up like a cigar, and then slice.

  • Step 3: Place sliced greens into crockpot with remaining ingredients.

  • Step 4: Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours or until greens are tender.
