Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (4 ounce) sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 can (10 ounce) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 to 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces dry egg noodles (wide, cooked and drained)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet with butter; drain fat.

  • Step 2: Add flour, salt, garlic, pepper, and mushrooms.

  • Step 3: Stir and cook mixture for 5 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add the condensed soup and 1/2-1 cup milk and simmer 5-10 minutes on low, stirring constantly.

  • Step 5: Add sour cream; allow to heat through but do not boil.

  • Step 6: Serve stroganoff over hot cooked noodles (or mixed in), garnished with parsley.
