Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup champagne vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons minced red or yellow onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (bottled is okay)
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (or chili powder for a little extra zing!)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup canola oil

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a blender or food processor, pulse together the ketchup, sugar, vinegar, onion, minced garlic, lemon juice, mustard, paprika, salt and pepper.

  • Step 2: With the machine running, slowly drizzle in the oil. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl down a couple times to ensure everything is thoroughly mixed.

  • Step 3: Transfer the dressing to a jar with a tight-fitting lid.

  • Step 4: Refrigerate the dressing for at least 3 hours.

  • Step 5: Shake again before serving.
