Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 12 brussels sprouts (frozen and defrosted and cut in half)
  • 1 teaspoon oil (olive oil)
  • 2 tablespoons real bacon bits
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot (cut into ribbons with a veggie peeler)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds, roasted

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in a small frypan or saucepan; add the bacon bits and red onion; cook 3 or 4 minutes to crisp up.

  • Step 2: Add carrot ribbons, brussel sprouts, salt and pepper; cook over medium heat for 6 or 8 minutes until carrot has softened.

  • Step 3: Just before serving garnish with roasted sunflower seeds.
