Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or margarine)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons bouillon granules (chicken flavor)
  • 2 cups milk (or for creamier use light cream)
  • 1/2 cup low-fat mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 12 ounces broccoli, frozen (one 12 ounce package, like Green Gian Valley Fresh Steamers, cooked according to package instructions)
  • 3 cups chicken, cooked (cut into cubes or can use turkey)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • TOPPING
  • 2/3 cups bread crumbs (plain)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (or margarine, melted)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 350ºF.

  • Step 2: In 2-quart saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and bouillon granules. Gradually stir in milk, cooking and stirring constantly with wire whisk, until mixture boils and thickens. Stir in mayonnaise and mustard until well blended.

  • Step 3: Place thawed broccoli in bottom of an ungreased 2-quart baking dish,

  • Step 4: Top with chicken. Spoon sauce over chicken. Sprinkle with cheese.

  • Step 5: In small bowl, mix topping ingredients; sprinkle over top.

  • Step 6: Bake about 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
