Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 egg
  • Flour for dredging meatballs in
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 (15 ounce) can of tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled up
  • 4 tablespoons rice, uncooked

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix first 6 ingredients, 1/2 tsp salt, pepper and 1 egg. Shape into 32 tiny balls; dredge with the flour.

  • Step 2: Bring bouillon cubes, water, tomatoes, 1 tsp salt and bay leaf to boil in a dutch oven.

  • Step 3: Add meatballs and rice, cover and simmer 45 minutes.

  • Step 4: Serve immediately.

  • Step 5: You can also use beef broth instead of the bouillon cubes and water. (4 cups)
