Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 acorn squash (cut in half, seeds and membrane removed, or butternut squash)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (or margarine)
  • 1 1/4 cups apples, chopped (peeled, cored, cut into 3/4 inch pieces)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut a thin slice from the botton of each squash so they will sit level

  • Step 2: Place the squash on an oven proof dish or tray, cavity side up

  • Step 3: Mix together the butter, cinnamon and nutmeg and place a tablespoon in each cavity

  • Step 4: Distribute the cranberries and apples between the four squash.

  • Step 5: Cover the squash with foil, bake in 375f oven for 50 minutes. Uncover and continue baking until the squash are tender approximately 10 more minutes

  • Step 6: Give the apples and cranberries a small stir so they are mixed together and make a nice presentation. Serve hot
