Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 large egg, fork beaten
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread, processed into crumbs ( about 3/4 cup)
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh dill, chopped ( or 1/2 teaspoon dried dill)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1 pound extra lean ground turkey (or chicken)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 teaspoons dejon type mustard
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl; add the turkey and mix well. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into half inch thick patties.

  • Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large frypan or grill pan; add the patties; cook for about 7 or 8 minutes per side; making sure they are fully cooked right through. Add cheese slices on top of each pattie; continue cooking until cheese melts.

  • Step 3: Spread mustard on buns, top bottom bun with tomato slices, add patties and lettuce. Place top bun.
