Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small or medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup uncooked long grain white rice
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/8 teaspoon tumeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon saffron
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a saucepan heat butter over medium-high heat. Add in the onion and garlic powder; cook for 2-3 minutes or until onion is soft. Toss in the rice and cook stirring constantly for 3 minutes or until glistening.

  • Step 2: Carefully and slowly add the broth, tumeric, saffron and parsley, salt and pepper; bring to a simmer stirring. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until rice is tender. Fluff with a fork before serving
