Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4/ cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cup bleached all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips ( I use Ghiradelli brand)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cream shortening, butter, sugars, then eggs and vanilla and almond extracts.

  • Step 2: Blend dry ingredients and add to mixture.

  • Step 3: Stir in Chocolate Chip.

  • Step 4: Drop by large tablespoons (I use a 1 TBS. cookie scoop) onto ungreased cookie sheet, leaving 2 inches room in between to allow cookies to spread, I press down lightly with a measuring cup to bake more uniform cookies.

  • Step 5: Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes until lightly brown.
