Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound hot italian sausage meat
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot chili flakes
  • 1 tablesppon lime zest, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium mango, peeled, pit removed, diced 1/2 inch, (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded, membrane removed, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 hamburger buns

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix together the sausage meat, allspice, thyme, chili flakes, lime zest and salt. Form into 3 patties

  • Step 2: In a bowl mix together the mango, jalapeno, red onion, mint and lime juice. Cover and place in fridge

  • Step 3: Lightly grease a skillet heat high medium and fry the patties for 1 minute

  • Step 4: Flip the patties, lower heat to medium cover the pan and continue cooking for a further 4 minutes

  • Step 5: Flip the patties again, cover and cook for approximztely 6 more minutes or until they reach internal temperatureof 180 degrees

  • Step 6: Place patties on buns, add salsa and any other condiments that you like on a burger.
