  • 2 carrots, scrubbed and chopped
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 3 sprigs parsley
  • 6 peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon savory
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • Dash ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place all ingredients in a large pot and cover completely with cold water.

  • Step 2: Cover and simmer for several hours, adding water as needed.
