Step 1: Brown turkey/chicken pieces in large oiled frying pan on both sides.
Step 2: Place veggies in a 4 qt slow cooker or large covered roasting pan; top with turkey pieces.
Step 3: In bowl, combine jam/preserves, maple syrup or honey, teriyaki sauce, ginger and cayenne; pour over turkey.
Step 4: FOR SLOW COOKER: cover and cook on low for 6 -8 hours or until turkey is tender.
Step 5: FOR OVEN METHOD: cover pan place in a 275F oven for 3 - 5 hours depending on your oven; or until turkey in tender.
Step 6: When turkey is done, remove turkey and veggies to a platter and keep warm.
Step 7: Transfer cooking liquid to a small saucepan and skim any fat; bring to a boil.
Step 8: Combine cornstarch and cold water and mix until smooth; gradually stir into pan.
Step 9: Bring to boil and stir constantly until thickened.
Step 10: Serve with turkey and veggies.
