The ingredients are:
  • 170 grams dry orzo pasta (dry, 2 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small yellow onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • Cayenne pepper, pinch (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup half and half (or whole milk)
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley, minced
  • Salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook the orzo according to the package directions; drain well.

  • Step 2: In a large skillet melt the butter over medium heat; add in the onion and saute until just softened (about 3 minutes). Add in fresh garlic and cayenne; cook 1 minute. Reduce the heat to low and add in the cooked orzo, Parmesan cheese, cream or milk and parsley; toss to heat through.

  • Step 3: Season with salt and pepper to taste.
