Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 (16 ounces) beef steaks (8 ounces each, 1" thick)
  • 2 large garlic cloves (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Oil, light spray
  • Hot spice (1 teaspoon your favorite, like cajun or texmex)
  • 1 cup mushrooms (8 medium fresh mushrooms, cleaned and sliced more if you like)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Lightly rub a bit of oil on both sides of each steak, sprinkle the hot spice to both sides of the steak and press it into the steaks

  • Step 2: Cover one side of each steak with thin slices of garlic, cover and place in fridge for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours. Bring to room temperaure befor frying

  • Step 3: Melt the butter and oil togeher over high heat in a large heavy frypan (cast iron are perfect), when it is bubbling add the two steaks garlic side up, and fry for 4 minutes

  • Step 4: Add mushroom to the pan, scoop the garlic off the steak, mix with mushrooms, flip the steak, continue to fry for 4 more minutes Season with salt and pepper

  • Step 5: Let stand for two minutes, slice and serve,covering the steak with the garlic mushrooms
