Step 1: Foil Package ... Use heavy duty foil, or a double thickness. Add the foil to a small dish, so as you add the fruit and toppings, the liquid will not spill out. Then, add the fruit to the center of the package, and try to stand or line up the slices - they tend to hold their shape and cook more evenly that way.
Step 2: Topping ... Add the butter over the fruit, sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg; and finish with the rum and nuts. If you want, which I always do ... add some raisins or dried cranberries.
Step 3: Package and Grill ... Fold up the package like a present, and make sure to twist the ends well. Grill on medium heat or bake in a 350 degree oven, middle shelf for 20-30 minutes until the apples are tender.
Step 4: Serve ... Open the foil package and serve. I think It is fun to serve right in the foil. Just top with ice cream or whipped cream and ENJOY!
