Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 slices bread (your choice)
  • 3 slices fresh mozzarella
  • 3 slices roma or small tomato
  • Basil leaves, a few to cover the sandwich
  • Balsamic vinegar, a sprinkling for the cheese and tomato slices
  • Mayonnaise for spreading
  • 1 teaspoon butter, for melting in the skillet

How to Make

  • Step 1: Slice cheese and tomato. Sprinkle with a small amount of balsamic vinegar and allow to "marinate" while you prepare the rest of the sandwich.

  • Step 2: Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the bread slice that will be the bottom of the sandwich. Then layer the cheese, tomato, and basil - cover with the other slice. Apply a small amount of mayonnaise to the outside of that bread slice.

  • Step 3: Melt the butter in the skillet, place the sandwich in the skillet and grill. Flip to the other side (the side that has the mayo) and grill until golden.
