Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound crabmeat (cartilage removed, drained and flaked)
  • 1/4 cup crushed saltine crackers
  • 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
  • 1/4 cup fat-free yogurt (plain or low-fat)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)
  • 2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 medium garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (or red cayenne pepper)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl combine egg, yogurt, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chopped green onions, garlic, paprika, pepper and salt. Add in the crabmeat and the crushed saltine crackers. Gently mix.

  • Step 2: Shape into five equal portion patties; Place the patties in a baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick coating;

  • Step 3: Broil about 5 inches from heat for 15 minutes or until golden (there is no need to flip the crab cakes over) OR oven bake the crab cakes in a preheated 450 degree oven, until they turn lightly brown.
