Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • DUMPLING
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • SEASONED GROUND BEEF
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup of finely chopped white onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetables (leftover mixed vegetables, like corn, peas, carrots, and lima beans)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix together flour,salt and shortening in a large bowl until small crumbs are formed.

  • Step 2: Add milk until well blended.

  • Step 3: Roll out dough on a floured cutting board or floured counter until about 1/8 inch thick,and let " air dry" for about 30 minutes.

  • Step 4: While the dumpling dough is "drying", take a large pot and add remaining ingredients except for the beef broth and veggies.

  • Step 5: Cut dough into even sized squares( or as close as you can get, they don't have to be exactly even sized).

  • Step 6: Cook ground beef until browned and onions are tender, drain if needed.

  • Step 7: Return beef to pan and add beef broth and veggies.

  • Step 8: Bring broth to a boil, and add dumplings a few at a time so the broth can continue to boil.

  • Step 9: Simmer for 30 minutes.

  • Step 10: Then eat and enjoy :).
