Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 4 cups tomato juice (I used V-8 when I made this)
  • 1 can (28 ounce) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 ounce) red kidney beans (drained)
  • 1 can (15 ounce) pinto beans, (drained)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon cumin (if you like real flavor, add more)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a Dutch oven brown the ground beef until VERY BROWNED. Drain off the fat. Add in all remaining ingredients, stir well. Simmer over low heat partially covered for 2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes.
