  • 5 cups frozen berry mix or fresh berries
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstartch
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: All fruit mixture to thaw and drain the juices.

  • Step 2: In large mixing bowl, stir together sugar and cornstarch. Add the fruit, gently toss until berries are coated. Set aside.

  • Step 3: Roll out pastry to approximately 12 inches. Line a 9 inch pie plate with the pastry, allowing the edges to hang over 3-4 inches.

  • Step 4: Place filling in pastry. Fold pastry overhang over the filling, pleating to fit. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.

  • Step 5: Place pie plate on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until top is golden. Cool on wire rack.
