Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt, or to your liking
  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups frozen peas (10 ounce package), cooked
  • 1 (7 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
  • Pepper
  • Buttered toast
  • 2 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and sliced

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium saucepan over medium low heat, melt butter; blend in flour and garlic salt. Remove from heat; gradually whisk in milk. Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Reduce heat and cook an additional 2 minutes, stirring frequently.

  • Step 2: Mix in Parmesan or romano cheese, drained cooked peas and flaked tuna to the sauce; heat through. Season with pepper (as much as you would like) and more garlic salt or white salt if needed.

  • Step 3: To serve, spoon tuna over toast and garnish with hard cooked egg slices.
