Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound smoked cod fish (skin on, bone still in Alaska black smoked cod)
  • 1 can (355 ml) lager beer (approx 1 1/3 cups)
  • 1 1/3 cup water (355 ml)
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Pour the beer and water into the bottom of a steamer pot

  • Step 2: Place the cod, skin side down, in the top of a steamer

  • Step 3: Bring to a boil and steam the fish until it flakes, do not over cook it, about 20 minutes

  • Step 4: Gently remove the skin and bones Lightly butter the fish add salt and pepper and enjoy
