Step 1: Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat; add onion, and saute 4 minutes or until tender. Add garlic; cook and saute 1 minute. Stir in ketchup and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer UNCOVERED for 25-30 minutes. Cool. At this time I would chill for 1 day before you use it.
Step 2: Store leftover sauce in refrigerator up to 1 week.
