Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 large yellow onion (cut in half and sliced)
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons garlic powder (or more if you love garlic)
  • 1 can (14 3/4 ounce) whole kernel corn
  • 2 cans (14 3/4 ounce) cream-style corn (14 3/4 ounce each can)
  • 6 large (3 pounds) potatoes (peeled, boiled and mashed with milk and butter)
  • 3 tablespoons butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large frying pan, cook the onion until almost done.

  • Step 2: Add beef and stir, cooking until meat is cooked through.

  • Step 3: Add your salt, pepper and garlic powder over the top of the mixture, mixing well. (Season to your liking).

  • Step 4: Spoon mixture into a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  • Step 5: Top the beef with the 1 can of whole kernel corn. Next, top the whole corn layer with the cream style corn and spread.

  • Step 6: Cook and mash the potatoes until smooth, adding milk and butter to your liking.

  • Step 7: Add the mashed potatoes, spreading over the top of the casserole.

  • Step 8: Dot with pats of butter all over the top.

  • Step 9: Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes, or until potatoes are lightly browned and the casserole is nice and hot.
