Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh minced ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot chili flakes, if you want hotter add more
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 2 medium onions, halved then sliced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets, fresh
  • 1 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place the steak in a bowl. Add the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, hot chili flakes, and cornstarch and toss to coat. Marinate the beef 20 to 30 minutes.

  • Step 2: Heat 2 Tbsp. of the oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until nicely coloured, about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove the meat from the pan.

  • Step 3: Add the remaining 1 Tbsp. oil to the pan. Add the onion and broccoli and stir-fry 2 to 3 minutes. Add the remaining 4 ingredients and bring to a boil stirring. Return the beef to the pan and heat through. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Step 4: Spoon onto a platter. Serve with rice.
