Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound sausage, links (spicy Italian, cut sausage into 1 inch pieces; remove casings)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (16 ounce) stewed tomatoes, undrained
  • 3/4 cup Picante sauce (Pace)
  • 8 ounces fresh button mushrooms, halved
  • 1 teaspoon dry basil
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano leaves,
  • 1 small red bell pepper, cut into 3/4" pieces
  • 1 small green bell pepper, cut into 3/4" pieces
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large skillet cook sausage slices in a little oil until lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Add onion and garlic; cook about 3 minutes.

  • Step 2: Add drained stewed tomatoes, Pace Picante sauce, mushrooms, basil and oregano salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered 35 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add bell peppers; simmer 10-15 minutes more or until peppers are tender.
