Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (split and tips removed, 16 wings)
  • 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup dry cooking sherry
  • 2 tablespoons gingerroot, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Chopped fresh chives, or green onion finely chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat broiler.

  • Step 2: Broil wings about 5 minutes per side.

  • Step 3: Transfer to crock-pot.

  • Step 4: Combine onion, soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, ginger and garlic in large bowl.

  • Step 5: Add to crock-pot; stir to blend well.

  • Step 6: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

  • Step 7: Optional: You can broil the wings if you like a crispy skin on them but it is not necessary, it doesn't change how they taste.

  • Step 8: Sprinkle with chives or green onion before serving.
