Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, large (lightly beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 degree F. Spray the donut pan with a little non-stick spray.

  • Step 2: In a small bowl combine the melted butter, buttermilk and egg and set aside.

  • Step 3: In a large mixing bowl combine the cake flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Pour in the the milk mixture and stir until just combined.

  • Step 4: Spoon 1/3 cup of batter into the wells of the donut pan. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until the tops spring back when lightly touched. Careful not to overbake.

  • Step 5: Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes; then finish cooling on a wire rack.

  • Step 6: The donuts may be glazed with your favorite glaze, or rolled in powdered or a cinnamon sugar mixture.
