Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 degree F. Spray the donut pan with a little non-stick spray.
Step 2: In a small bowl combine the melted butter, buttermilk and egg and set aside.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl combine the cake flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Pour in the the milk mixture and stir until just combined.
Step 4: Spoon 1/3 cup of batter into the wells of the donut pan. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until the tops spring back when lightly touched. Careful not to overbake.
Step 5: Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes; then finish cooling on a wire rack.
Step 6: The donuts may be glazed with your favorite glaze, or rolled in powdered or a cinnamon sugar mixture.
