Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon aged balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 6 teaspoons of herbed goat cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts,
  • 6 slices baguette, about 1/2 inch thick

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat, add onions, cover with lid

  • Step 2: Stir often, do not let the onions cook too fast or brown too fast. Remove lid when the are getting nicely browned, continue cooking until they are golden

  • Step 3: Add balsamic vinegar, sugar and salt to the onions, remove from heat

  • Step 4: Place a generous amount of onions on each baguette slice, top with goat cheese and sprinkle with pine nuts

  • Step 5: Place in 425f oven for about 10 minutes, or until the bruchettas are heated through and the cheese is just beginning to melt Serve warm
