  • 2 pounds sausage, smoked, halved lengthwise and sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 potatoes, large, cubed
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 1 green cabbage, small or 1/2 large, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper, or to taste
  • 4 ounces tomato sauce (1 can)
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • 15 ounces red kidney beans, drained (1 can)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine first 10 ingredients in a large stockpot, bring to a boil, and simmer for 30 minutes.
