  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup figs, dried, chopped, stems removed
  • 1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: In a bowl of an electric mixer cream the butter and sugar together.

  • Step 3: Add eggs one at a time, beating after each one.

  • Step 4: Add figs and nuts and beat on low. Using a rubber spatula, scrape down the side of the bowl often.

  • Step 5: Add dry ingredients (flour -salt) a little at a time. Beat on low until smooth.

  • Step 6: Drop onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

  • Step 7: Remove to wire rack and let cool.
