Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, drain saving 1/2 cup pasta water.
Step 2: Season salmon lightly with salt pepper and paprika.
Step 3: In a skillet, add butter and olive oil and sear the seasoned salmon on both sides and remove from pan. Let the halfway cooked salmon rest under tented foil.
Step 4: Add onions to the pan and cook until opaque.
Step 5: Add tomato paste and cook for a minute.
Step 6: Add chicken broth to the pan and scrape up remaining seasoning from the salmon.
Step 7: Once the liquid has heated through, add pasta to the sauce with 1/2 cup of the hot pasta water.
Step 8: Add tomatoes and cook until tight.
Step 9: Add two tablespoons of butter to the sauce stir until thickened.
Step 10: Add salmon back into the pan and simmer until salmon is just cooked through.
Step 11: Break apart so everyone gets some.
Step 12: Garnish with parsley and season to taste.
