Step 1: Generously grease a small casserole dish with butter.
Step 2: Place the peaches or nectarines in the casserole dish.
Step 3: Toss the raisins over the peaches or nectarines.
Step 4: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ground ginger; sprinkle this evenly over the fruit.
Step 5: Lightly mix in the rolled oats.
Step 6: Pour 1/2 of a cup of melted butter over everything.
Step 7: Cover and bake for 45 minutes to 50 minutes, or until peaches or nectarines have softened.
Step 8: All too cool to room temperature and serve this over ice cream, or topped with whipped cream.
