  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 16 ounces tomatoes, diced (1 can)
  • 6 ounces white rice, dry (3/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup Heinz chili sauce
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon parsley, dried

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook bacon until crispy and remove.

  • Step 2: Take out all but a tablespoon of bacon grease.

  • Step 3: Fry onions and peppers just until tender and season lightly.

  • Step 4: Add rest of ingredients, cover and simmer on low for 35 minutes.

  • Step 5: Take off heat and let set covered for 5 minutes.

  • Step 6: Fold in bacon.
