Step 1: Rice: Boil water, add rice, salt and butter.
Step 2: Cover and simmer on low for 20 minutes.
Step 3: Remove from heat and let stand covered (5 minutes) until all water is absorbed.
Step 4: Cabbage: While rice cooks, fry bacon in a large skillet until crisp.
Step 5: Remove bacon from pan and drain on paper towel. Stir cabbage into bacon grease and cook 1 minute. Stir in sugar, paprika, 2 tablespoons water and a dash of salt.
Step 6: Cover and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 7: Add rice, bacon and sour cream .
Step 8: Heat through but don't boil or overcook.
Step 9: Season to taste.
