The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 (16-ounce) can tomatoes, cut up
  • 1 onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 2 medium carrots, diced (1 cup)
  • 1/3 cup barley, rinsed
  • 1/4 cup catsup
  • 6 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 teaspoons Lawry's Seasoned Salt
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • Pepper (no salt needed)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown hamburg in a large pot breaking it up into medium pieces; drain off excess fat.

  • Step 2: Add the rest of the ingredients; bring to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or till veggies are tender.

  • Step 3: If you have any leftover rice, peas, or corn, you may add some to this soup at the end and heat.
