Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup frozen leaf spinach, thawed and squeezed of excess water
  • 16 ounces gound chicken or turkey breast
  • 1 tablespoon (heaping) Dijon or other tangy mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic-and-herb seasonig blend
  • 1/3 cup dried tart cherries
  • 1/3 cup Italian cheese blend, shredded
  • For Serving
  • 3 tablespoon low fat mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 8 mini 100% whole-wheat sandwich buns
  • Bibb lettuce
  • Thinly sliced red onion, otpional

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the broiler.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine spinach, chicken, mustard, seasoning, and cherries. Mix well.

  • Step 3: Shape into 8 patties about 1/2 inch thick.

  • Step 4: Place patties on the broiler pan and broil 6 inches from the heat.

  • Step 5: Broil about 6 minutes per side or until thoroughly done. The sliders are done with an instant read thermometer reads 165 degrees.

  • Step 6: Sprinkle 1 heaping teaspoon shredded cheese on each burger.

  • Step 7: Broil 1-2 minutes more or until cheese melts.

  • Step 8: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and mustard.

  • Step 9: To assemble: lightly toast buns if desired. Place lettuce on each bun.

  • Step 10: Top a slider with red onions and a dollop of the mayonnaise mixture.

  • Step 11: Place the other bun half on top and serve.
