Step 1: Preheat oven to 450F. Coat a large nonstick baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
Step 2: Combine bread crumbs, cornmeal, chili powder, red pepper and salt in a medium shallow dish; mix well. Stir in butter and water.
Step 3: Separate onion slices into rings.
Step 4: Place egg whites in a large bowl and beat lightly. Add onion rings and toss lightly to coat evenly.
Step 5: Transfer to bread crumb mixture; toss to coat evenly.
Step 6: Place in single layer on baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until onions are tender and coating is crisp.
