Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Italian seasoned)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons oil (olive oil)
  • 1 small onions, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 350°F. Put a cookie sheet in oven while preheating. Coat a 9x5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, mix together the beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg and herbs. Salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 3: Heat the oil in a skillet. Add the onion and garlic. Cook until just soft. Mix into the meat mixture.

  • Step 4: Put into prepared loaf pan. Place loaf pan on preheated cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour or until firm in the middle. While meatloaf is baking, heat marinara sauce on stove.

  • Step 5: Cool slightly and slice. Top slices with heated sauce and serve.
