  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper, to taste
  • 2 ounces heavy cream (1/4 cup)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Peel and cut potatoes into small pieces.

  • Step 2: Boil them in salty water for about 20 minutes.

  • Step 3: Drain the water well and mash the potatoes until they're smooth.

  • Step 4: Add 4 tablespoons butter to the mashed potatoes while they're still warm.

  • Step 5: Mix well until the butter melts.

  • Step 6: Add a little salt and pepper.

  • Step 7: Make small tall circles with the mashed potatoes. Cook them in a hot pan with 2 tablespoons melted butter until both sides are crispy and golden, about 5 minutes on each side.

  • Step 8: Put the potato cakes on a plate lined with paper towels.
